I’m not a greenthumb.
I’ve been struggling with keeping plants for as long as I can remember. Now if this sounds familiar to you, and you don’t have time to look after your plants, here are some that will apparently last TWO whole weeks between waterings.
Dracaena deremensis ‘Warneckii’. Native to tropical Africa, this palmlike plant has long, arching, white- and gray-striped leaves. It ranges from 3 to 7 feet tall. Low to medium light.
Ponytail palm (Nolina recurvata). Its narrow, bright green leaves arch out from a woody stem. Reaching about 4 feet tall, a mature specimen can store water for months in its bulbous base. Bright light.
Snake plant (Sansevieria trifasciata). Upright, narrow, leathery leaves with different patterns reach 4 feet long. Bright or low light.
Zamioculcas zamiifolia (shown here). New on the indoor-plant scene, this native of Tanzania has fleshy stems and glossy deep green leaves. It grows slowly to 3 feet tall and wide. Bright light.
