A new pay for post blogging/advertising service is out called ReviewMe, and so I decided to give it a test drive. The post here is a sponsored post, meaning that I am getting paid a small amount to talk about the service. But there is no better way to learn how a service operates than jumping in and trying it out.
ReviewMe was created by the Text-Link-Ads folks who have been super great to LifeSpy. There are no crazy flashing advertisements on this site asking you to do anything because of my use of Adsense, and Text-Link-Ads to cover the cost of running this site. So I owe them a big thanks.
I have a feeling that ReviewMe will also be a great service for certain bloggers. While the ethics of posting about something are debateable, I feel that it is not much different than me paying writers to come up with content for this or any other site, or my paid blogging work that I do elsewhere.
What seperates ReviewMe from other pay-for-post services is that they require you to be upfront about the writing you are doing. They are advertisements, and should in some ways be treated as such. By writing about a product or service, that does not mean that the person wholly recommends the product or service. They could be writing about it because it pays well, or he/she thinks that their readers will like said service or product.
So far, I have noticed it is a little difficult to find the list of advertisements that are available to be written about, but I am sure that is just because they need to introduce a bit more flow to their site, and that will come with time. The service is really new, having just opened its doors all the way recently.
It will be interesting to see if such advertising methods will work, and with ReviewMe giving away $25,000 of their own money to prove how great advertising through blogs is, they are definetly putting their money where their mouth is.
