
Well, sex and aside conception aside, I’m focusing on the word mom here. It’s more of having a child and dealing with it. It’s not just getting knocked-up and having a swelling belly. Parenthood is perhaps the greatest endeavor a person would have. Being a mommy can make you excited and nervous at the same time.
Here are some tips for first-time mommies.
During the first month, babies may need to be nursed about 8-12 times a day. Now you can’t really just set a fixed feeding schedule since babies can go hungry every 1-3 hours. But don’t worry, a routine will be established between you and the baby.
And you know the classic line, “Breastfeeding is best for babies.”
Baby keeping you up with diaper changes? Face it. Change them when they need to be changed. Don’t even waste your time potty-training the baby. It takes 15 months for babies to have control over their bladder and bowel movements. And even then, they aren’t physically capable to use the pot too.
Being a mommy would test your time management skills so better prep up for it. If you have a doctor’s appointment for your baby’s check up, be sure to keep it. It’s really important to monitor your child’s progress.
Putting in a few pounds is quite normal for a woman just out of pregnancy. So don’t fret too much about As for the baby, don’t be too paranoid about the baby’s weight. Unless the doctor says the baby’s overweight or underweight, chances are the baby’s just fine.
Having children right after delivering one can be pretty taxing physically, emotionally and financially. Your newborn may not get the much-needed attention in these very crucial times.
Not because you have a baby you’d stop being yourself. Continue doing the things you love by budgeting your time carefully. Remember, losing your sense of self just because of the baby, will make you an unhappy mom. So for your sake and the baby’s do things that’d make you happy. Just make sure your baby’s always attended by someone.
