Wireless connectivity is really becoming the staple for the future. And Apple, again, leads the packs with its use of 802.11n for it’s router, AirPort Extreme.

And as Apple’s explanation for 802.11 says:

Among its key innovations, 802.11n adds technology called multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO), a signal processing and smart antenna technique for transmitting multiple data streams through multiple antennas. The result? Up to five times the performance and up to twice the range compared to the earlier 802.11g standard.

What’s also interesting about Apple is that it’d let users to connect a hard drive to their router. This may also mean that they’re looking for forward compatibility with OS X Leopard and Time Machine - its backup application. The combination of a these backup tools could mean a hassle-free home network set-up for Mac users. Neat!
