Relectors

Accidents happen. And once or twice you’d probably experience a tragic fender bender. A crimp on your car’s sleek and shiny hull is quite a nasty thing to look at. But what’s more tragic is if you’ve done it in your own garage. Aaargh!

One of the best way to prevent these things is to mark your garage space. And a quick and cheap way to do it is by marking corners, edges, walls, and floors with reflectors. This way, if ever you come home late and there’s no ambient light, the reflectors will guide you around. Reflector tapes cost around $5.00 a roll and little bike reflectors (which you can install around the garage) costs around $1.50 to $2.00 a piece.

Here are other quick tips to avoid such mishaps since most of us use our garage as a storage facility too:

  • Clear the space around your from potential falling debris. That paint can on the shelf may not only just spill on your car, if it falls, it’d cause nasty dent.
  • Install a marker on the wall that aligns to your car’s side mirror so that you’d know exactly when to stop backing up.
  • If you garage is small, line the walls that might come into car door edges with rubber mats. This prevents nasty chips from car doors coming into contact with the wall. These chips invite rust.
