All pet lovers should know the basic things that entail having a pet. After all, tending for an animal is not an easy task. If you like the idea of carrying your pooch on your arms when you shop, then you definitely must know these pet lover’s lifesaver tips.
How to keep the pet area clean. The corner you have allocated for your pet will forever stink; unless, of course, you know what to do to avoid such a catastrophe. Rule number 1: never forget to clean their food bowls regularly. Regularly means everyday, or as often as you can. Food/water bowls can get really nasty if you fail to clean it for a day. But if you clean it the way you clean your kitchenware, then your pet’s bowls won’t be as disgusting. Buy a very effective cleaning formula.
Pet hygiene. No matter how often you clean and scrub your pet, it will always tend to smell like an animal if you don’t personally attend to its hygiene. Do not skip a bath time and always clean the area where your pet hangs out, i.e., the carpet in the living room. Cat poop is nastier than dog poop, so better get a litter box that cleans and disinfects itself every time there’s poop.
Trip to the vet. You can’t really say what an animal would do at times. And it should always be the humans in the family over the pet. Have the pet vaccinated for rabies and treated for other parasites. Have a regular schedule to the vet to make sure your pet is in tip-top shape.
In cases where your furry friend has mischievously had paint on its fur, use vegetable oil to clean it off. Soak the soiled fur area on the oil and then give pet a shower.

1In my experience, self-cleaning litter boxes are not effective if you have multiple cats (I have two). I had the LitterMaid box, but it wouldn’t clean up all the poop and the electronic scooper would get stuck. Switched back to a good ol’ plastic litter box with good clumping litter, and the house doesn’t stink anymore.
