I drink a diet soda every now and then- I actually love the extra caffeine kick in the afternoon. I have not yet tried Diet Pepsi Max, but I have seen their commercials, which are pretty entertaining- they have a whole yawning theme- you can see them on their website: www.wakeuppeople.com

In any case, while scientists slug it out on the aspartame-cancer issue, I'd rather side on where I'd be safe. So I guess not consuming it at all would place me on the safe side just in case it is proved to be true. But if it's just a hoax, no harm done to me as well.

Thanks for sharing those two insightful takes on the issue. :D

Aspartame and cancer? Now, I would not be surprised if true (I'm not sure the FDA is really looking out for the people), but WebMD says, "not so":
http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2006/04/05/health/webmd/main1473654.shtml
Back to the FDA, I found this article providing some interesting insight on the political machinations going on there, plus more about aspartame studies:

I will grant you that water has to be best for the human body.
