One thing I’ve been experiencing with Vista so far is it’s unfriendliness to a power user like me. I mean, I love to tweak my system (and Windows XP just let me do just that) and I’m really annoyed by the all the confirmation dialogs that pop up just about every time. It seems like I just have to live with that until I switch to a different OS.
Vispa is a wee piece of a Swiss Army Knife that lets you customize so many options in Windows Vista. While there’s nothing new in the tweaks that you can’t do without it, it still beats having to dig your way through the registry. It simply features a list of options with checkboxes leaving you to just tick on or tick off options that you might want enabled or disabled. However, while most of the titles are self-explanatory, it leaves you with “what does this button do” questions. So probably a caveat right there.
In any case, I still like having to tweak things easily. Just check out this list of all tweaks here (via Cyber Net News). It really packs a lot of punch for something that doesn’t even need installing.
Download Vispa here (via Google Code).
