Web Developer

I’ve had my fair share of coding web pages from CSS to the xHTML. It’s tough, especially when you’re a hardcore nut who refuses to use WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) editors like Dreamweaver. Just a text editor and Firefox, baby!

While, being that old school has its satisfactions, it does also help if you have a good set of tools that you can use for studies and validation. And that’s what makes Firefox oh-so-lovable in my book. ‘Cause it does. Well, not on its own but it has this particular add-on - Web Developer.

From the same guy who gave us User Agent Switcher, Chris Pederick, comes this awesome toolbar add-on that gives you a wide range of web developer tools right into Firefox. Here’s a summary of it’s features:

  • Disable Cache, Java, Javascript, Pop-up Blockers, Meta Redirects…
  • Disable, delete, view, add cookies
  • Disable, view, add, edit CSS
  • Display form details and manipulate forms
  • Display page information
  • Outline elements, frames, headings…
  • Validate code
  • View source
  • Access toolbar options
  • Resize windows

If you want to do some research on some site designs, you can readily access the HTML source and the CSS. Now how are those for web development tools? Wicked!
