Anonymization Add-on
With all the brouhaha of how Google and other web services can profile us through our searches and by logging our IP, it’s important to use anonymity tools. Tor is supposedly one of the better tools out there but from my experience, using its proxy service halved my speed. Plus, set-up can be quite a challenge for non-techies.

So here’s a quick alternative for you – the Anonymization add-on from folks over at Anonymization.net. It’s one of those proxy server services that masks your IP by routing your connections to a proxy service before reaching the website you want to visit.

While it doesn’t provide the much needed layers of security that you might want (unlike with Tor), it pretty much helps. What’s nice about this is that it cleans up a page from ads and spyware too. It’s also got a one-click history and cache cleaner.

One limitation though, it wouldn’t let you search directly via Google but it does have a search feature. Well, it does add a few more clicks to your search process if you get annoyed by longer processes.
