Personally, I think having both the throbber and the progress bar is overkill since both indicate if the page is still actively loading. I prefer just having the progress bar since it also serves as a meter for how far the page is in the loading process.
However, some might find the progress bar a bit small and inconspicuous. So how about making it a bit more prominent like having it the length of the address bar. Heck, how about combining the two? If you’d like that then Fission just might be the add-on for you. It simply combines the functionalities of both in the address. Installing this add-on creates a nice visual effect of showing the page loading progress fill-up in the address bar.
While the function’s pretty much limited to just that, this is more of an interface tweak and benefit those who would find this feature attractive.
