Just got my Firefox updated to 2.0.08. No better notification than that right? Just a message saying that the updates are out and you’re good to go.
Now it isn’t really that long until we finally see 3.0b but I just can’t wait for it. These releases (2.0.0.8) are security updates to the browser. According to the release notes, here are the issues addressed in the fix. 2.0.0.8 also features two language packs -Georgian (ka) and Romanian (ro) and a bonus Kurdish (ku) in beta. It also features improved support for Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard).
- URIs with invalid %-encoding mishandled by Windows
- XPCNativeWrapper pollution using Script object
- Possible file stealing through sftp protocol
- XUL pages can hide the window titlebar
- File input focus stealing vulnerability
- Browser digest authentication request splitting
- onUnload Tailgating
- Crashes with evidence of memory corruption (rv:1.8.1.8)
