Cell Selection in Firefox

Many of the information you find online is presented via tables. And why not? Data like statistics is best seen in an organized matrix. Citing them in paragraph form would only confuse the viewer. HTML has had the feature to display tables for a long while now and it’s pretty common to find not only data in table format but also non-compliant designs use them for formatting.

In any case, if you’re into gathering data, you might find copying tables can be a bit of a problem especially when all you need is one column. Ordinary clicking and dragging will select the whole table. While a pretty basic feature, specific cell selection is often an underused feature in Firefox. All you have to do is press and hold the Ctrl key while clicking on individual cells or rows and columns. This would offer you better selection control over tabular data.
