Last time, I featured this neat plug-in that tries to solve that nasty tab scrolling tendencies by reducing the tab width to the site’s favicon. While today’s featured isn’t really related to the tab scrolling but more on favicons.
Google Icon simply shows the favicon of each of the site in your search results (if there’s any). IMHO, it’s more of eye-candy though others might find value in this one. For one it can slow down the loading of the results page since your browser has to load a number of favicons. While these can only be a couple of Kbs at most, it may affect those who still use dial-up speeds.
In any case, it helps you relate the favicons to websites. Visually it does enhance the results page.

1None of the icons are downloaded until after the web results have loaded so that results are still as fast as possible.
