For those of you, not familiar with leet (or 1337), it’s a way of writing that substitutes similar looking characters for the letters in a word. For example l in “leet” becomes 1, e becomes, 3 and t becomes 7. It’s supposed to be the elite computer user’s (hacker’s) language.
Now how about transforming typed and static text into L337, ROT13, BASE64, HEX, URL, BIN, DES, AES, Morse code, DVORAK keyboard layout and to lower/to upper case functionality in Firefox? If you want to have fun with leet, Leet Key just might be the tool for you. It allows you to switch text between forms of leet.
I recommend it for the purposes of interest and humor. It’s always best to write in a language that most of your audience understands. I’m not really fond of reading leet in blogs and forums aimed at common internet users. If your online community loves leet, then this might just be a must-have for you.
