Anything in excess is bad. The body needs some intake of fats and good cholesterol but only in limited amounts. Here are five quick ways to cut down on fats:
- Eat lean meat, fish, poultry, dried beans and peas for your protein.
- Trim the fat off meat (like in pork chops) and stay away from skin in poultry. Chicken skin, though yummy, is loaded with fat.
- Buy skim milk or non-fat dairy products.
- Minimize use of cooking oil, butter and lard. Just use enough to coat a pan.
- Broil, boil, and bake instead of frying or deep frying.
