Anything in excess is bad. The body needs some intake of fats and good cholesterol but only in limited amounts. Here are five quick ways to cut down on fats:

  • Eat lean meat, fish, poultry, dried beans and peas for your protein.
  • Trim the fat off meat (like in pork chops) and stay away from skin in poultry. Chicken skin, though yummy, is loaded with fat.
  • Buy skim milk or non-fat dairy products.
  • Minimize use of cooking oil, butter and lard. Just use enough to coat a pan.
  • Broil, boil, and bake instead of frying or deep frying.
