Formal Attire

Of course you love him just the way he is. But enough with his dirty hair and sleazy outfit! The problem with us guys is that we really don’t give too much premium on fashion and grooming until that metrosexual craze hit. Now we don’t need five pairs of queer eyes to encourage us to give ourselves a makeover, our girlfriends can do it for us. Makeovers are for everyone who wants to look great and feel better about themselves. Would we totally hate it if we morph into better versions of ourselves? The answer is pretty obvious.

Ask him if he’s all for it. Where some guys will be offended with the idea, some will be OK with it. We don’t expect the guy to be excited over a makeover but if he’s secure with himself and he is open to change he might welcome a new look. Ask your boyfriend if he’s okay if you help him out with his style and tell him that what you’re suggesting doesn’t have to be permanent. You’re just going to try out new styles and he can go back to his sleazy self if he’s not happy with the outcome. But of course he’d love the outcome, you have to make sure of it.

Hair. Short hair, long hair, almost bald, or skinhead — whatever his hairstyle is, you have to make sure that it looks great on him. Slicked-back is so not-hot anymore (was it ever?) and dirty hair is only for high-schoolers. Suggest a neat hairstyle. If your guy wants to wear his hair long, you can use a grooming cream to sport long-hair.

Clothes. Take him shopping! Some guys find it exhausting to come with you as you scour the mall for bargain-priced outfits but if today’s mall agenda is all about him, he’d want to be taken along. Don’t make him feel like you’re controlling everything. Let him choose the clothes that match exactly what you had in mind. He’d be happier that he gets to choose his own clothes.
