Cleaning

You can’t afford to get sick but sickness is a just step away if you’ve been living like a slob. If you hold your family dear, you should be very careful to take care of yourself to avoid infecting everyone in your household. Diseases are caused by microorganisms, and all sorts of germs. Avoid the threats of diseases which range from common flu to deadly diseases like botulism spores. Know what you have to do and do what it takes to have a clean home.

Follow the most simple and essential preventive measures. Washing hands often is not too troublesome. Remembering to wash hands especially before eating prevents you from getting an infectious disease. Wash away harmful germs that you may have picked up from other people or from infected things that you may have unconsciously touched. Avoid serious diseases like Hepatitis A, Meningitis, and SARS by simply washing your hands. Make sure you wash your hands before and after you prepare your food, after going to the bathroom, and whenever you feel that your hands are dirty.

Disinfect your home. Cleaning is different from disinfecting. Cleaning your house can still leave your house infected with harmful viruses. Usually, water and soap will do but places such as the kitchen and bathroom may need a bit more disinfecting. Food may contain natural bacteria so you should handle your food properly and cook it well. Never risk unclean food. It will cause fever, diarrhea, or vomiting. Remember to wear rubber gloves when cleaning/disinfecting your home, especially if you have an open wound.

Groom the pets. Pets are fun to have around, but having them also means that you have to clean them and the mess that they make. Buy pets from a reputable pet store so you can be sure that you get a clean animal. Have it checked by a vet to make sure that it’s perfectly safe to bring home to your kids. Have your pet scheduled for regular shots and worm treatment. Don’t feed it raw food nor allow it to drink out of the toilet. Maintain the cleanliness of your pet’s living area. Litter boxes should be cleaned everyday. Pregnant women can avoid birth defects by not being the ones to clean animal wastes. Don’t allow children to play around these areas until it is thoroughly disinfected.
