Rush Hour

So you plan to kick it back somewhere really nice and warm this coming month. Probably some tropical island where the you can wear shirts instead of jackets and the party’s always… uhm… jumping. But traveling always has its quirks especially if you have to deal with the rush in airports and other hubs. And not to mention the paranoia of whether you’ve packed everything including the proverbial kitchen sink or not. But there are ways to deal with travel anxiety so that, whether it’s for business or pleasure, you can commit yourself to a worry-free journey.

The general rule is be prepared. If it’s been a long time since you’ve done scouts, it’s a good time to start recalling your scout’s motto.

Pack a few days early. Make a checklist of the essential things that you need to bring. And be sure to pack early. Don’t fret about those things that you can easily buy from convenience stores. Chances are, wherever you go, they’d be available. Unless of course, you’re spending time in the Sahara but chances are airport shops in Africa will still have them anyway.

Secure your home. If one of your worries is if you home will be safe, read these 5 Don’ts of Home Security. Making sure that your home’s taken cared of would be a worry off your mind.

Get some time allowance.. Always pretend that your departure time is an hour earlier. This would give you time for those oftentimes unnecessary fidgeting and rush. It’s better to have a cup of tea (coffee can get you more agitated) in the waiting area than be stuck in traffic fifteen minutes before the plane leaves.

Relax. Sometimes, you just give yourself undue pressure like you feel like you always have to rush things. This shouldn’t be so. Don’t get jolted when your flight number is announced. Boarding the plane is not a competition. Same with getting off the plane.
