David, over at Blogging Pro, posted this interesting bit for probloggers (like myself) who need to catch up and meet that post quota. It actually features this bit from Bloggers 4 Hire and these important tips.
First thing to do is see exactly how far behind you are. When I’m behind I try to just double up on posts. Now if you’re really behind, then you might have to triple up, but I wouldn’t go more than three posts a day. Also don’t post them all at once. Spread them out over the day (morning, noon, night for three– morning and noon for two). Wordpress lets you do this easily in the post editing area (change Timestamp).
Aside from these, I’d have to agree with David that during this crunch time, distractions are a no-no. It takes real focus to finish three posts in one sitting. Stocking up on articles is also a great idea. Ever found yourself in such a writing mood? That’s when I just sit down and write. And just post some of them at a later time or date.
Still, I do find myself in such a situation at times when I’m not just in the zone to write. I know this advise wouldn’t help much for those pressed with time. I power nap just to clear my head. It’s only for fifteen minute. Once my head is clear, I find it a lot easier to just write.
But I have found a good pace and writing rhythm so that I wouldn’t have to play catch up again. Schedule is very important. I know that I work best in the mornings and late in the afternoon so I split up my time and write during those times. I just make sure my boss knows about it.
However, as a rule of thumb, especially with us with the Bloggy Network, never compromise quality with quantity.
