I had a friend who used to think that wearing goggles in the pool is for pansies. Until his eyes got so irritated by chlorine and dealt with a few days of red eyes. It’s always best to wear goggles for protection. Here are some tips on choosing and using goggles.
Try a variety of goggles that you’d find comfortable and stylish. As for the fit, you can always adjust the straps. Remember they should prevent water from leaking in and getting to your eyes.
Goggles should fit tightly. Some goggles like race goggles are built to sit within the eye socket.
To prevent fogging, wet the inside of the goggles with a bit of water or wetting solution just before you put them on.
If you have eye problems, some specialty shops can offer you prescription goggles. Needless to say, these items can be a bit pricey.
