Most of us have some insecurities here and there. Well, nature doesn’t want us all to achieve the right body proportions (you got to hate fashion magazines for making you feel ugly, huh?) but at least you can draw stuff away from your stubby legs or jutting beer belly. Hey, with the right pieces of clothing, you can create the proper illusions.
…you have a long torso
If you totally hate the way your legs seem too short, you may want to follow these guidelines on how to achieve a perfect look by counterattacking the effect given by clothes not made for girls with a long torso.
- Cut-away sweater. This is perfect for your long torso. With its slightly flared and cropped up tailoring, your legs will instantly look longer than they actually are.
- Distract and captivate. Draw people’s eyes away from your waist down by wearing an attention-grabbing exquisite brooch on your clothes.
- Avoid: Long cardigans. Avoid clothes that draw attention to your legs. A long cardigan is not for you so opt for something else that’s more flattering.
… you have a short waist…
Stretch out your midsection. With clothes that have vertical patterns like stripes, your midsection is sure to look longer.
- Go for ribbed fabrics. They make you look taller.
- Go for turtlenecks. Turtlenecked blouses create the illusion of extending the neckline.
- Avoid: Short sweaters. These make you look and feel wider.
… you have a jutting belly
The tummy problem? But not to worry, we know just the thing for you. Sure, a hundred crunches a day would help and lay off those chocolates but here’s a quick fix.
- Get a twinset. Twinsets are best worn open to give your tummy a tuck. The hottest twinset today is known as the “trick twinset”. It’s called a trick twinset because it’s actually not a twin, but fabrics sewn together to make it look like separate layers.
- Best length. The best length of your cardigan is one that drops just below your hips. It will seem to stretch your midsection.
- Avoid: Outfits that show your tummy. Pretty obvious, but yes. Unless, off course you love having your love handles peek out.
