Laptop Screen

Everything is bound to be smudged or dirty. Even your precious laptop screen is vulnerable to your fingers or some dust. And personally, I used to get so irritated by smudged marks on my screen. If you’re particularly obsessive-compulsive, that’d bug you.

You may find a whole lot of cleaners in the market but again, you can go MacGyver berserk and use readily available materials such as water and alcohol. Or find some CD/DVD lens cleaner, it’s practically the same thing. The active ingredient for that is propan-2-ol. Guess what. It’s isopropyl alcohol. Harhar.

What you need:

  • Lint-free cloth, lens paper would be best (no paper towels, they flake and leave lint)
  • Isopropyl alcohol
  • Water
  • A spray bottle (the one that makes a fine mist)

What to do:

  • Mix a half-half mix of alcohol and water (If you have CD/DVD lens cleaning solution, that’d work too)
  • Put in a spray bottle
  • Spray a fine mist on a lint-free cloth
  • Wipe in a consistent motion. Top to bottom while going left to right works great with me.
  • Apply even pressure. Pressing too hard will mess up the liquid crystal
