We highly recommend this screen cleaner!

So you have a laptop…and you touched the screen. Or someone else touched the screen. The point is, touching was involved, and now your screen is dirty and smudgy, and you need a way to clean it up.

Have no fear!

We have two methods for you to do just that without having to spend an exorbitant amount of money on a store bought cleaning solution.

Ok, here’s solution #1. This is the easiest, and what I would recommend you try first, before getting the old science lab kit out for option #2.

  • Grab a 100% cotton towel, or t-shirt and wipe off the screen. Seriously. That’s it. Most of the time, this will do a good job of getting rid of those unsightly smudges.

If that doesn’t work, you can always give solution #2 a shot…

  • Mix rubbing alcohol and distilled water into a solution that is 50% alcohol and 50% distilled water.
  • Put the solution is spray bottle.
  • Spray a 100% cotton cloth, or lint-free microfiber cloth with the solution.
  • Wipe the screen in a consistent motion (such as clockwise or counter-clockwise) being careful not to put too much pressure on the screen or you could leave streaks.

DO NOT – I repeat – DO NOT use tap water for this. It can leave mineral stains on your screen. The solution described above is the exact same thing you’ll find in those expensive bottles from the store, so if you’re a frugal individual, this might be worth your time.
