Now here’s an exercise to get some beef on those upper arms - bicep curls. Bicep curls is a simple free weights exercise that can be done using a barbell or a pair of dumbbells. For you home bodies, you can purchase free weights from your local sports and fitness stores. I’d recommend using dumbbells for those working out at home to save space.
- Feet are shoulder-width apart.
- Dumbbells to the side, palms facing inward, arms straight.
- Raise one dumbbell while rotating it until your forearm is vertical with palms facing your shoulder.
- Shortly pause at this position.
- Lower arm to starting position
- Breathing: inhale at the start of a rep, exhale at the end.
- Repeat by alternate arms.
- For starters (and warm-up) try 10-15 reps per arm.
As always, consult your physician for any physical activity you’ll be doing.
