Ah, the thrill of motorsports. I admit that having been to inspired by the World Rally Championships and Initial D (which came way before Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Dirft), I’ve tried some insane driving on my own. It’s pretty scary stuff. I tried powersliding and the smell of burnt rubber, highly-revved engine, and the side G-force scared me for my first few gos.
Whether you’d want to drift (with a Trueno Sprinter) or powerslide (with a Corvette), here’s a good video of Tiff Needell (of Top Gear fame):
Some points from Tiff:
This is not something that you should do on open road. Practice at your own risk. If you still plan to better hit a wide open space and do so with a qualified sport driving teacher.
Remember, always buckle up for safety.

1I wouldn’t dare try this on my car. Though if I can get my hands on an M3, why not? Heheh. Hey, it’s different with FWD, RWD and 4WD cars, right?

2Yup, it definitely is.
Powersliding/drifting’s usually done with RWD cars. But believe it or not I’ve tried it with a big body Corolla (yup, just like the one that you’ve bought with blogging bucks :p).
Pretty tough. I’ve only done skids and reverse 180s but not a sustained powerslide like with that M3.

3Interesting. Stock wheels and suspension? I guess it would be all right if you’re on a dirt road (less friction).

4Wow, Love the Powerslide demo. I would love to do that. All I need is the car and a track.
