A garden that can grow everything you need in your kitchen. Why not? That would save you a great deal while giving you a great hobby. You can grow your favorite plants which you use for your own home-cooking. How great is it to have all your ingredients in your backyard all fresh and clean as you would have them? Here are some helpful tips.
Determine how many plants you can grow in your garden. Containers of seeds usually describe how big its mature plant can be. Knowing how big each seed could grow will give you an idea how much space you will need for your new garden or how many plants your garden space can accommodate.
Opt for small plants. Instead of buying big grown plants, opt for small plants so you can maximize your garden space. Buy seedlings of medium and vertical plants.
Plants which grow straight up and down are best planted in containers. Place a stick into the center of a pot. This will provide support to the growing plants.
Warm-season crops like tomatoes and peppers are good to grow after early spring crops like lettuce and radish.
Make weeding easier by putting a weed barrier on top of the soil before you plant. Upon deciding which space will be for planting, cut openings in the cloth and insert the plants through the opening into the soil.
