Just one drink. Doctors say that you can get the most benefit and least amount of harm from a single daily serving of alcohol. A serving is about half a glass or 4 ounces of wine, one shot or 2 ounces of hard liquor, or a full can or 12 ounces of beer.

Avoid refined sugar. Too much intake of refined sugar and processed carbs like white bread may lead to insulin surges and cause you to gain unwanted weight and may lead to diabetes.
