Movie/game nights with friends always means chips, dips, and beer with a few of your best buddies. And there’s no other dip for the gang other than chili. Hey, let’s face it. It’s so yummy, even Texas made it their official dish.
Here’s an rather easy way to make chili con carne at home.
What you need:
- 1 40-oz. can of kidney beans
- 1 28-oz. can of tomatoes
- 1 6-oz. can of tomato paste
- 1 lb. hamburger meat (or just shred patties)
- 1 cup chopped green pepper
- 1 cup chopped onions
- 1 tbsp chili powder
- 1 tbsp cooking oil
- 3/4 cup water
- A skillet with cover
What to do:
- Heat up the skillet and add oil
- Throw in the onions and peppers and cook until the onions brown
- Add the hamburger meat and sautee until brown
- Add the beans, tomato paste, and tomatoes, and chili powder
- Add the water
- Cover and simmer for an hour
