You read it. Yes, a banana. This is surely something that would rock the very fiber of my CD cleaning belief that all you need is a clean lint-free cloth and wipe the darned thing from the center outward in a straight line rotating the disc as you go along. But no, this features a real home remedy (and quite organic too) – a banana.
What you need:
- Banana flesh
- Banana peel
- Glass cleaner
- Lint-free cloth
What to do:
- Rub the banana flesh on the CD using small circular motions.
- Spread it with the banana peel. The “wax” on the peel “cleans” the CD.
- Wipe the banana off with the cloth.
- Spray some glass cleaner on the CD.
- Wipe clean and dry.

This works but should NEVER clean the disk in circular motion. Only do it in straight lines… The circling messed up my Mac OS X install disc!
