Visit carpet stores if they have some old carpet samples to discard. Many carpet stores use a lot of material in their showrooms that get discarded after some time. These can be perfect in cars as added matting or as doormats. You can even build your pet a decent warm bed from these carpet trims.

You also get to choose from a variety of styles and colors. You may even be lucky to get a similar shade for those carpeting patch jobs around the house.

Some of these discarded carpets may just need some cleaning which a good run in the washer won’t solve.
