A philosopher said if you get a job you want, you will never have to work a day in your life. Not all of us are lucky enough to land our dream jobs. Sometimes we are stuck in a job we don’t want because we need the money. This life crisis will continue on if you plan to ignore the fact that you hate your job.
Is it possible to excel in a job you don’t want? You may not know it but there is a chance you are working your way out of a job you hate — if you are always late, or you often fail to meet deadlines, or if you can’t remember why you applied there. Be wary of the things you’re unconsciously doing before it’s too late.
Be always wanted. If you’ve been stuck in one job for too long and you’ve been so comfortable in that position for 5 or 10 ten years, you may have forgotten that there is a pool of new talents out there who are more than willing to assume your office if you gave them the opportunity. Remain competitive and acquire new skills and qualifications that will render you irreplaceable.
You love the challenge and the excitement, but when it’s already happening you find yourself shirking from the spotlight. Although you feel being in the center of attention is not your piece of cake, you still have to grab opportunities where you can stand out and be noticed by even bigger bosses. Promote yourself without bragging about it.
Whether you like it or not, you need your job. How else can you pay your mortgage?
