School is just around the corner and for many of college students it’s will be just about time to start packing bags to scoot over their dorm rooms. And more often than not, they’d just wait until the last minute to pack their stuff. The result - things get overlookedCollege and Finance listed 18 things that college people overlook to bring when they finally seek refuge in their dorms. Here’s their list and a few additional from us.
Now let me just add a few more things in this list. A few of these multitaskers can come in handy.
Baking soda - Have it handy. It’s an ultimate all-purpose cleaner. Got a drunk of a roommate who just puked on the floor again this morning. Sprinkle it with baking soda. Smelly hands from handling stuff? Baking soda. Got a canker sore that distracts you from studying? Gargle with baking soda.
WD-40 - The list has duct tape in it and all handy people know the cardinal rule of the toolbox - duct tape to stick and WD-40 to unstick. You’ll be amazed at the number of thing inside (and outside) your dorm room that will benefit from a spritz of this.
Sewing kit - This is debatable given how many kids can actually sew these days. But tears and rips on clothing happens. Buttons pop. While you can do some quick clothing fixes with staplers and tape but nothing beats the good needle and thread to do the job.
Umbrella - Some universities have wide expanses of open ground from one building to the next. So don’t be caught helpless by a light drizzle. Bring one.
