The toys are scattered everywhere – on the stairs, in the bathroom, on the windowsill, and sometimes in the tub! These kids just won’t listen when you tell them to only play inside their room. You go out to work and when you come home what do you find – hand painting on the wall! Isn’t there anything you can do to avoid their big mess?
A smart answer would be to give your kids their very own playroom. Kids love to run around because they are looking for interesting places to hide or to talk to their dolls. But if they had a very comfortable playroom, do you think they’ll still play in the kitchen?
You can use the smallest room in your house and make it into your kids’ playroom. Since the room is very small, and it could also have a very low ceiling, you should focus on making the place more spacious by getting rid of furniture which your kids won’t be needing for playtime. Get big boxes where you can store all the toys. Label the boxes according to toy type like dolls, or trucks, or coloring books. Teach your kids to always return their toys to the appropriate box after playtime.
Since this room is entirely for playtime, you can decorate it with fun and educational décor. Hang posters of the alphabet or a world map or devote an entire shelf for books and provide a very comfortable couch so your kids will be enticed to read. With a playroom like this, you’re sure to clean only one room every time, instead of the whole house.
