One of the features of Word 2007 that I like is search highlighting. Actually, this isn’t really that unique a feature. The Google toolbar has had this feature and it’s probably one of the great things with the Google toolbar. In any case, I digress. This post’s about Word 2007.
The feature’s called Reading Highlight in Word and it’s quite handy especially if you’re doing some proofing or editing or even just plain browsing through a document. It highlights every instance of a search word or term.
Click on Home

Then click on Find. For keyboard ninjas, these two steps is simply Ctrl + F (just like with previous versions).

Once you key in a search word or term, the reading Highlight Button immediately enables. Once clicked, it will highlight every instance of the search word or term. Pretty nifty.

The highlight color follows the color designated by the Text Highlight Color. Change the highlight color here to change the reading highlight color.

To clear the highlight, just click on the drop down of the Reading Highlight button and select Clear Highlighting.
