Creating design accents and borders in PowerPoint need not be too complicated. A pattern of default shapes can easily do the job. Creating a pattern of evenly-spaced and symmetrical shapes can create a nice effect for your template. If you’re not too experienced in using the mouse, it is quite difficult to create even spaces between these shapes but here’s a nifty trick that you can do.
This is quite easy to do. First is select a shape that you’d like to use.

Click and drag your cursor to draw the shape based on the size you’d like.

Now, press Ctrl + D (the duplicate shortcut). This will create a duplicate shape. Click and drag the duplicate to the location you’d like the pattern to go. This will dictate the spacing and direction.

Press Ctrl + D repetitively to create the pattern. The next duplicates will appear at an evenly-spaced position to the direction of your first dupe.
