Munching on carrot sticks and celery sticks can drive a food-loving person crazy. Especially if you resolved to lose that paunch that’s worth a few pounds. But does that have to mean that you can’t enjoy snacks anymore? It sometimes is a killer to deprive yourself of the good eats. Carrots and celeries just would never cut the joys eating pizza.
But here’s one trick that might help you still enjoy snacking without having to completely do away with you favorite snacks - food swapping. The trick to weight loss is actually controlling your intake and use of you calories. And some sprinklings here and there adds up to a food’s calorie count. A jelly-filled donut with sugar sprinkles definitely has more calories than a plain honey-sweetened one.
Instead of a meat-lover’s pizza, try the veg variety. Or settle for a plain sponge cake or angel food cake instead of a frosted donut. Popcorn, unsalted without the butter can replace your chips. Pita bread is a healthier alternative to bagels, muffins and croissants.
You can also stock up on all-natural sweets like fruits so you can avoid the temptation of a high calorie food item. If your sweet tooth bugs you, reach for your supply of fresh fruit to ease your craving.
