Cash

It’s really crazy when you’re broke. Aside from the bills that just keep on mounting, you got to eat too, right? It’s really frustrating when you run out of cash but still, there are ways to manage these things. Remember that if you still have a job (or some form of income), you can readily bounce back with just a bit of cash management and some patience.

Rent is one thing that you should skip. You can’t be broke and homeless at the same time. Landlords can also be quick to evict non-paying tenants unless, of course, your landlord’s a friend who can understand your situation. But if you have a fiendish landlord, pay up quick.

Your utilities can also be deferred. Traditionally they can be put off for a month or two before the company terminates their services. Don’t disconnect your phone though as it may be your lifeline when the need arises.

Mortgage payments and car loans can also be deferred for a month. However, notify your bank or financier first. It may be possible to have the terms adjusted to accommodate your financial status. If you’ve been on good credit standing before, you may be able to have your bank to side with you.

These are also times when your credit card can save your life. All you have to do is pay the monthly minimum and the rest can be settled some other time.

Remember that deferment of payment doesn’t mean that you can totally ignore them. It is just a matter of buying you some more time to get your financial act together.
