Most of them, people think that saving on purchases only mean big when they’re larger investments like houses or cars. Yeah, sure, why not. A 10% discount off that latest sedan would mean more or less four-digit savings.

But believe it or not, but many are making big savings out of pennies, literally!

You don’t buy a car or a house everyday, right? But you do use household stuff everyday. If you’ve been budgeting and keeping track of your expenses, then you probably would know that these would be where you spend the most.

It may have not dawned on you but most of us are unnecessarily wasting away hard-earned bucks by not paying attention to little details. For example, you may unnecessarily be squeezing so much toothpaste out of the tube while you only need a bit. Or perhaps filling in that bay of your dishwasher with detergent to the brim while you only need a scoop. Or by not knowing which to buy bulk and retail.

I’ve written this before, and I’ll be writing this over and over – don’t spend unnecessarily.

Keep score of what you spend. And keep those pennies in piggy banks or jars. You’ll be surprised at how much you’ll be saving over a year’s time. Maybe even more than what you saved on the car dealership promo.
