While students and apprentices may lack the experience that pros have, there’s one thing that you can count on – they almost always want to do things right. Which can really be a good thing.

Local vocational schools often seek out opportunities for hands-on work for their students. Most of the time, these schools spend much on materials just to have something with which their students can practice.

Say for example, a local beauty school. Some schools open up their workshops to the public so that you can have your hair done by a student. Sure they might not have the speedy techniques that a pro has but rest assured, they are working under supervision. And for routine jobs these can always suffice. Best of all, you only pay a minimal fee for the service.

Same goes for other vocational schools. Got some car trouble? A minor fender-bender perhaps? A local school may do the job for you and all you have to pay for would be the parts saving you a lot on the labor cost.

So check your phonebook and scout out vocational schools where you can bring your business and save up a lot. Students learn while you save.
