Being a single guy, I could only imagine how the transition. It’s still be years before I get to settle down. Some of my friends, however, are now taking that route by starting families of their own. And one thing that makes me curious is my female friend’s transition from being a singleton to being a mother.
In this time and age, women are after their career, then motherhood comes in of next importance. The feeling of power that entails a successful career is becoming contagious among women too. More often than not, these career women only stop and think about other important things, like motherhood, when they reach their 30s.
Considering parenting at the age of 30s is reasonable. People need to establish financial security and status before settling down. People need to scrutinize their lifetime partners too. And people become bored of corporate and start seeing married life as a good way to settle down.
Be responsible. There are some things that you may have to sacrifice for the sake of your baby. If you’re quite the party animal, maybe you just can’t be out until the wee hours of the morning five nights a week.
Some things you have to know. Women in their 30s have a lower chance of conceiving a child. Other down side of it includes increased chances of miscarriage and of the baby having Down Syndrome. Scientific studies find that women in their late 30s usually have a harder time with pregnancy, so much so that regular medication and pain relievers might no longer work.
The age gap. Some women who have babies when they were still in their twenties have a narrower age gap with their children. This narrower age gap can solve various yet oh-so-often problematic situations where parent and child can no longer understand each other.
