Winter Skin

So snow is upon us. While people can have an excuse to just cover themselves up, you can still look your best in winter starting with keeping a healthy and glowing skin. The winter air can readily dry your skin up. Worst case, your skin can dry up and crack. Nasty if you’d ask us. So be sure to take care of your skin during these cold winter months.

Lips. Winter is not an excuse to have dry, cracked lips. Lip balms come in all forms and flavors. Maintain moisture in your lips by regularly applying lip balm. The best is still applying petroleum jelly on lips and leaving it overnight.

Skin. Your elbows and knees might suffer the driest patches in your body because of the cold. To exfoliate these dark spots, rub a lemon on the area and then apply your favorite cream.

Feet. Give yourself a foot spa. Buy a warming foot scrub and use this to clean the bottom of your feet to make them soft and smooth again. Remember you’re going to wear those step-ins again soon so your feet shouldn’t be winter-damaged.

Long baths. Taking long baths during winter can dry skin. But fortunately, products which are made specially to hydrate skin are now available so you can indulge in long hot baths even when it’s snowing out.

Scalp. Hair becomes nasty when dandruff starts getting worse. Stop the flakes by using a moisturizing shampoo that also has a soothing effect on your scalp. Be careful in choosing your anti-dandruff shampoo because some products actually remove your hair’s natural oils.

Cheeks. Using powder blush might not be the best cheek makeup during winter. Try a cream blush because it’s bound to last longer on your cheeks.
