Good thing I’m one of the lucky people who got to experience the new version of Gmail (so is it still in Beta?). No fancy re-skinnings here for this one but it sure gives some tweaks in the interface functionalities and speed thanks to a JavaScript rewrite on the back end of the technology.

One of the major tweaks in the interface is the contacts manager. I love the way you get to see the whole list and modify whether it appears in the chat list or not. Editing details are also quick given this new interface. The import and export features are even integrated.

It’s also got a few more options under the “More Actions” menu. Like the “Filter messages” option that brings up the filers options so that you wouldn’t have to manually create filters. The “Mute” option also deals with those “threads that won’t die” messages.
