I have to admit that I use Yahoo! Messenger just a bit more than my other IMs. It’s simply because most of my contacts and friends also use Y!M as their primary IM. However, for e-mail purposes, I’m a hardcore Gmail user. I just think the simple interface and mailbox space can’t be beat.

Yahoo! does a Google by its latest Yahoo! Mail Beta feature – an integrated Yahoo! Messenger with your mail. It’s pretty much like how you have GTalk embedded in your GMail interface.

I’m personally not too excited with this as I never keep my Yahoo! Mail (Beta) window open. I just think it’s too bloated and eats up a lot of resource (correct me if I’m wrong with this one) and as I’ve said, I keep all my mail in my GMail account.

Die hard Yahoo! fans will nevertheless be rejoicing in this feature. It gives your Yahoo! Mail interface dual functionality. You might just not need the client anymore if it’s just messaging you’re after.
