We’re all used to hearing about drinking 8-10 glasses of water a day. Well, this is pretty much a calculated amount. Those 8-10 glasses are what a person on a typical day loses through activity. So those glasses of water are just to maintain your body’s ideal hydration.
Though this 8-10 glasses may vary since different people have different routines. Some may be more physically active or are situated in warmer or colder climates.
A popular therapy nowadays concerning water intake is water therapy. It can be traced back to Chinese and Indian medicine. It involves taking in a liter to a liter and a half of water or even more in an effort to cleanse the body.
The Good
Now taking in a liter of water a day is practically harmless. It even helps in flushing out toxins. Healthy water intake can even help flush out small kidney stones and other harmful mineral build ups in the body. It prevents dehydration.
The Bad
One possible danger of water therapy is the unregulated intake of water. Our body has a natural mechanism of getting rid of excess water. If you take in more water than you could get out, then you are risking a possible fatal condition called hyperhydration or water poisoning. This could result into conditions such as heart failure, stroke or brain damage.
When you reach the point that your body can’t balance out your fluid levels, you are also disrupting the balance of electrolytes. This is why sports drinks contain minerals such as salt to replenish electrolytes that are lost through physical activity.
So a good take on water therapy is to take it in moderation. Always seek professional medical advice before engaging in such “therapies.” Who knows? You might just harm yourself in a blind effort to better yourself.

We’re no MDs here but that sounds like a lot!!!
As always, we suggest that you consult with your doctor regarding this. It’s quite unnatural for a person to drink 6-8 liters of water.

7Dear Sir!
About water therapy…. 2years doing it! Results: 1-8mm stone from my left kidney gone. 2-pain from my joints, i.e. gone. 3-skin problems gone. 4-tiredness gone. I don’t care afterwards if I drink or not. Now I think faster and headaches are reduced to zero. Blood presure now is stabilised. I have tested the proportion of salts in the body, fantastic! Conclusion: I think not to be disturbed from 1.5l water that is the minimum amount of water per day!
I have read everything about w.th for 2years and side efects what you prescribe are not for 1.5l water but for much more.
Best regards
Niso

8Dear Niso,
Way to go…my supervisor has been doing the water therapy for 1 year now… 1.5 L of water right after waking up… excellent results.
P.S. he is 60+ years old..
I read in wikipedia that the 2.5L is the dangours limit… so I think that 1.5 L is good… esp. after 8 hours of sleeping without water intake…
I hope that an MD would comment on this

15Hey there. I tried water therapy for 2 days. Because I’m used to drinking roughly 2L of water every day, in the course of the day anyway, I didn’t worry too much. It’s doing wonders for my friend as we are speaking. What a total surprise when I hit an all-time low. I was cold and shaky and seriously drowsy the whole day. I had a lot of symptoms that usually go with a sharp drop in blood sugar and / or blood pressure. This caused me to look up water toxicity and low blood pressure (which I do have). If a person is low in minerals to begin with because they have been following a “healthy” fresh-food, low-salt lifestyle, that shock of 1.5 litres of pure water all in one go could just tip the balance. I’m all for it that people investigate a “therapy” before they just try it out. “Water can’t do you any harm?” apparently it can after all.

DRINK WATER ON EMPTY STOMACH
It is popular in Japan today to drink water immediately after waking up every morning. Furthermore, scientific tests have proven its value. We publish below a description of use of water for our readers. For old and serious diseases as well as modern illnesses the water treatment had been found successful by a Japanese medical society as a 100% cure for the following diseases:
Headache, body ache, heart system, arthritis, fast heart beat, epilepsy, excess fatness, bronchitis asthma, TB, meningitis, kidney and urine diseases, vomiting, gastritis, diarrhea, piles, diabetes, constipation, all eye diseases, womb, cancer and menstrual disorders, ear nose and throat diseases.
METHOD OF TREATMENT
1. As you wake up in the morning before brushing teeth, drink 4 x 160ml glasses of water
2. Brush and clean the mouth but do not eat or drink anything for 45 minute
3. After 45 minutes you may eat and drink as normal.
4. After 15 minutes of breakfast, lunch and dinner do not eat or drink anything for 2 hours
5. Those who are old or sick and are unable to drink 4 glasses of water at the beginning may commence by taking little water and gradually increase it to 4 glasses per day.
6. The above method of treatment will cure diseases of the sick and others can enjoy a healthy life.
The following list gives the number of days of treatment required to cure/control/reduce main diseases:
1. High Blood Pressure (30 days)
2. Gastric (10 days)
3. Diabetes (30 days)
4. Constipation (10 days)
5. Cancer (180 days)
6. TB (90 days)
7. Arthritis patients should follow the above treatment only for 3 days in the 1st week, and from 2nd week onwards – daily.
This treatment method has no side effects, however at the commencement of treatment you may have to urinate a few times.
It is better if we continue this and make this procedure as a routine work in our life. Drink Water and Stay healthy and Active.
This makes sense .. The Chinese and Japanese drink hot tea with their meals ..not cold water. Maybe it is time we adopt their drinking habit while eating!!! Nothing to lose, everything to gain…
For those who like to drink cold water, this article is applicable to you.
It is nice to have a cup of cold drink after a meal. However, the cold water will solidify the oily stuff that you have just consumed. It will slow down the digestion.
Once this “sludge” reacts with the acid, it will break down and be absorbed by the intestine faster than the solid food. It will line the intestine.
Very soon, this will turn into fats and lead to cancer. It is best to drink hot soup or warm water after a meal.
A serious note about heart attacks:
· Women should know that not every heart attack symptom is going to be the left arm hurting,
· Be aware of intense pain in the jaw line.
· You may never have the first chest pain during the course of a heart attack.
· Nausea and intense sweating are also common symptoms.
· 60% of people who have a heart attack while they are asleep do not wake up.
· Pain in the jaw can wake you from a sound sleep. Let’s be careful and be aware. The more we know, the better chance we could survive…
A cardiologist says if everyone who gets this mail sends it to everyone they know, you can be sure that we’ll save at least one life.

30I have slight constipation and acidity problems. I am used to drinking 1 glass evry morning on waking and I do manage to have 6-7 glasses thruout the day.I started the therapy last week. I feel ok with 3 glasses but have to force the 4th glass down. Then I feel bloated and uncomfortable. That feeling remains after passing urine and moving bowels and also for the rest of the day. I think my abdomen feels distended and the acidity seems to have increased. What can be the problem? Maybe every body is different and all cannot benefit from this therapy. I am afraid i might harm myself

32Dear All the people of this forum!
A month ago I began Water Therapy twice a day, every day, once in the morning, a quarter to six and once in the afternoon, a quarter to six. The results superb. If somebody is interested in particular I can send him/her mine laboratory test results. Water Therapy Twice a day is wonderful for people suffering in particular from Arthritis, but anyway it’s good for the body to function correctly.
I have something special for people that believe that water clean from the body everything in it’s way like a river. No Way. If this was true, all the people will find in their test results, i.e in urine tract sugar, fat, salts, that body needs. But it can’t be true if you are OK. If the contrary happens You are ill and must to be see by a doctor as soon as possible to explain why this anomaly happens.
Thank you for your time
Niso
