A few friends of mine have been hankering me to help them good deals on second hand guitars. Being newbies, I understand their mix of excitement and curiosity in making their purchase. I’ve always been a fan of buying things second-hand (though I don’t with consumer electronics since I value the warranty). Guitars would be one thing that I do recommend scouring the second-hand market.
I decided to put up a series of articles on buying a second-hand guitar and I thought I’d share them here on Lifespy. The first one’s on answering the “why question” and it summarizes to these:
- Brand new top-of-the-line guitars are expensive.
- Brand new cheap starter kits suck.
- A decent 2nd-hand guitar comes way cheap.
- You can find a high end on suicide sale.
- You’re just starting out.
For a longer read and some anecdotes, you can read it here.
