No wonder they’re down by that much. I remember when folks had to upgrade from Windows 98SE (or if they’re unfortunate ME), they didn’t need to buy a new PC. But Vista took that route and we see that they’re paying for it.

Who has that much money to shell out for a high-end (that’s essentially what “Vista-ready” means) PC just to enjoy the new features (and headaches) of Windows’ latest installment? Well in juxtaposition with boxed sales, bundled OS with new PCs were up by 67%. So Bill’s guys may still have smug smiles on their faces.
