If you’re an Office 2007 user, probably one of the things you found different in the new interface is the elimination of the those toolbars that suddenly pop up when you select a particular tool. However, Microsoft has just found something else to annoy use with – the Mini Toolbar. And you just have to ask “why?”

The Mini Toolbar appears whenever you select something, containing some supposed quick access to font and formatting options. This option’s found across Office applications.

• Click the Office Button -> Application Options (e.g. Word Options)
• Select the Popular pane
• Uncheck the Show Mini Toolbar on Selection option
• Click OK
