If you’ve browsed you computer with hidden and system files showing, you may have encountered this peculiar file named Thumbs.db especially in folder filled with media like videos and pictures. Don’t worry it’s just your thumbnails cached by the system. It’s not a virus but they’re all over your computer.
Maybe you’ve also experienced changing the contents of a folder but the same thumbnail preview still appears. Yup, you may have guessed right, it’s the bugger that’s behind it all.
If you don’t want Windows to store such information (the total of all Thumbs.db can occupy a lot of space too), then follow these simple steps.
Tools -> Folder OptionsView tab, find Do not cache thumbnailsThere, Windows will stop caching thumbnails.
